about
This song was written in the car on the way back from Will Shiptons all dayer in Coventry. At the time Al was on strike but he also had a habit of forgetting the words on "Keep Digging" so the song is about that. Al doesn't like playing it anymore so you'll have to make do with the version that is here because we promised him that we'll never play this song live ever again.
lyrics
Al's on strike, Al's on strike
He'll do whatever he likes
Al's on strike, Al's on strike
He'll do whatever he likes
Oh, oh no
Al's on strike
Say goodbye to your post, Brudenell Road
Al won't sing, Al won't sing
He sits there and does his thing
Al won't sing, Al won't sing
He won't sing on 'Keep Digging'
Oh, oh no
Al won't sing
Say goodbye to your solo
Al won't work, Al won't work
He won't iron that postal shirt
Al won't work, Al won't play
He's on strike for better pay
Oh, oh no
Al won't work
